INDO-NAGA CEASEFIRE

The area of Ceasefire coverage which has been the bone of contention between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India finally spilled over with the NSCN (IM) walking out of the Ceasefire meeting held at Police Complex, Chumukedima, on Thursday.
Talking to media persons after walking out of the meeting, Convenor of the Ceasefire Monitoring Cell (CFMC), NSCN (IM), Kraibo Chawang, said the NSCN (IM) disagreed with the meeting mainly on two issues – the ceasefire coverage and the summons issued to NSCN leaders by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
“On the ground, these (GoI representatives) are the people who should create a conducive atmosphere for solution, but we find it very difficult when the Ceasefire Monitoring Group (CFMG) Chairman says that the ceasefire does not extend beyond the State of Nagaland. That is an insult to the whole Naga people,” Chawang said.
Chawang said NSCN (IM) leaders Isak Chishi Swu and Th. Muivah are not fighting for the cause of the people of Nagaland only but for the people of all Naga inhabited areas.
The other issue, Chawang said, is the summoning of NSCN leaders including Chairman, Isak Chishi Swu; General Secretary, Th. Muivah and Emissary to the NSCN (IM) collective leadership, VS Atem.
The CFMC Convenor disclosed that recently more than 20 members of the NSCN (IM), including the top leaders, have been summoned by the NIA to appear in its court on the pretext that the Naga leaders were waging war against the Union of India.
“But the fact is that NSCN has been struggling with arms and because of this there is a ceasefire,” Chawang said. He reminded that the Government of India and NSCN (IM) has signed the ceasefire agreement as two entities.
Pointing out that imposition of Indian laws was not acceptable to the Nagas, he said Naga people would now decide on the future course of action.
Chairman of the CFMG/CFSB, Lt Gen (retd) NK Singh, admitted that the NSCN (IM) members had walked out of the meeting on the issues of ceasefire coverage and summoning of their leaders by NIA. “I told them that my jurisdiction as CFMG Chairman is only in the State of Nagaland,” Singh said. The CFMG chairman further stated that, in the meeting, the NSCN (IM) leaders “did not agree to stop extortion.”

Naga Republic Day

‘Naga Republic Day’ 22 Mar. 2015 1:16 AM IST
Speech of NSCN/GPRN yaruiwo Isak Chishi SwuPRAISE THE LORD!PRAISE THE LORD!PRAISE THE LORD!I thank God of all people and nations and God of the Nagas, who brought us thus far. Once again on this 36th Republic day of the Nagas, I greet you all the people of Nagalim in the Name of our Lord Saviour Jesus Christ!I pay homage to our fathers, who started this historic journey of freedom. What inspired them to move? There is a concept behind of every movement or action. I am quite sure they were inspired by the concept of a society of higher order. The movement of the Nagas is inspired by the spirit of change from bondages to freedom, from darkness into light, from village-state to nation-state, from traditionalist world to the revolutionary world and from the rule of autocratic kings to that of democratic people. We have started the movement and we must finish it. The Naga were ruled by the council of hereditary elders of the clans headed by kings in their respective village-states. In some areas, governments were run by weak councils under autocratic kings, but in some others a kind of democratic rule was in practice. The traditional hereditary kings were adored by many people. In course of time, the old system was rocked by the waves of national movement and it has brought the Nagas from one historical stage to another. This is the Era of democracy where voice of the people rules. Democracy prevails over the rule of hereditary kings and titles are no more to be inherited, but it is to be earned with sweat and tears. The second Republic was declared by the National Hoho on 21st March 1980. The Nagas have stepped out of the shell and there is no question of going back. We will keep moving.There was a time when we were compelled by circumstances to confront with the aggressors. Except for a few traitors, all Nagas of both genders, of all ages and status were deeply involved in the movement and indeed, they have paid the price in full. However, that did not bring any tangible result.This is now the time of negotiation. And that NSCN has been engaging in talks with the government of India since 1997 with a view to solving the problem through political dialogue. No one denies the truth that Nagalim belongs to the Nagas and that is our principle. But the fact is that our land is under heavy military occupation by the aggressors. The objective of NSCN is therefore, how the problem is to be solved. The government of India has admitted that military solution is not possible. At the same time the Nagas also have realised the futility of military approach. Both parties have agreed to go for political solution. We believe solution can be worked out only through discussion and interaction between the contending parties. Some groups say India must quit Nagalim, some say they will go for a separate solution for a part of the people and some others say they prefer prolonging the movement to solving the problem for commercial motive. Overlooking the present they glorify the past and dogmatize the future. They are indeed road blocks, not solution. But NSCN is for a negotiated settlement that guarantees the future of the Nagas. Our past generations were equipped with the spirit of self-reliance. They were productive force, who used commodities of their own make. But generations today are departing from the work culture. They are entirely dependent on others for their livelihood. It is a dead philosophy. It is now high time for us to rise up and rebuild our thinking before we are totally ruined. We are not a strong people until and unless we can stand on our own feet economically and politically. Rebuilding of our economy is paramount. Therefore, we must decide and soar.Every Naga young and old should be oriented to and guided by our own culture. We see most of the people today are totally disoriented or not oriented at all. It is meaningless accumulating wealth and learning knowledge without correct orientation. One should be future-oriented. “The people perish when there is no vision.”Tribalism, factionalism, communalism and the spirit of other people and our people are eating into the vitality of Naga nationhood. It is seen that any incident of individual crime is often communalised by negative elements for their vested interest. We must combat them. Tribalism, communalism and factionalism are the weapons of enemies of the people. The psychology of the Nagas today needs to be rebuilt. I believe the Lord will give us rest from this long political journey to build our country. Let us enlarge our heart and mind; let us enlarge our towns and cities; let us enlarge our highways and let us enlarge our resources. I urged upon you that each and every Naga should be a productive force. If God wills better days will come soon.
KUKNALIM!

Respect to all living being equally.

I belief in equality of all Human Being, every living being on earth have right to live in their habitat. I am not the owner of universe and I fail to respect myself, to Human equality, to animals, to trees, to environment and other living beings. However, even if I fail in first place, or in second place, or in third place but one day I will to respect for sure. And when I learn how to “Respect” then I will find permanent happiness and peaceful life.

Philosophy of Human Development:

What is Human Development? Critically analyzing the views on how human development can be realistically attained within prevailing socio-economic conditions. What, is the significance of Human Development as a contemporary vision for societal reorganization?” Discussing the nature of this significance with the help of one or two examples in Human Right perspective. my name969374_675184249165052_769715694_n906687_10152349491211003_5399677118797655187_o.

Human Development; is a wellbeing concept within a field of International development in mulita-dimensional and pluralities that are radically involved education as much as health, socio-economic standard of living and political freedom. United Nation define human development as “the process of enlarging people’s choices”, said choices being allowing them to “lead a long and healthy life, to be educated, to enjoy a decent standard of living”, as well as “political freedom, other guaranteed human rights and various ingredients of self-respect.” The  human  development  approach  has  been  greatly  inspired  by  Amartya  Sen’s  pioneering works in welfare economics, social choice, happiness, agency and value, poverty and famine, and development economics. Mahbub ul Haq has says human development main pillars are: equity, efficiency, participation and sustainability. Apart from his four principle, other like; responsibility, respecting Human Right, people’s wellbeing, feeling satisfied with one’s life and possessing resources and expand people’s freedom, were a part of Human Development.

Critically analyzed the views of Hahabub Ul Haq on Human Development:  according to Hahabub Ul Haq, well knows economist, the basic purpose of the Human Development is to enlarge the people choice and the objective is to create enabling environment for to enjoy long, healthy and creative lives. The Human Development Paradigm cover all aspects of development, it is whether economic growth or international trade, budget deficits or fiscal policy, saving or investment, technologies, basic social services and the safety net of the poor. Thereby, according to him, no aspect of the development model falls outside its scope, but the vantage point is the widening of people’s choices and the enrichment of their lives. So, the economic growth become only a subset of the Human Development Paradigm.

Prof. Hahabub Ul Haq, pointed out four essential pillar’s in Human Development: Equality, sustainable, Productivity and empowerment. However, It regards economics growth as essential but emphasized the need to pay attention to its quality and distribution, analysis at the length its links with human lives and the question of long term sustainability. The Human Development paradigm defines the end of development and analyzes sensible option for achieving them is partially not true.

My personal views on Human Development as a contemporary vision for societal reorganization: the philosophical foundation of Human Development by Hahabub Ul Haq is highly appreciable, my analysis draw on his aspect of Human Development. Human Development can be understand in much more wider sense; starting from individuals, families to nationals or internationals relationship in various aspect, which includes people’s health, educations, political freedoms, citizens securities, including jobs, good law and governance of the state, international relationship including trade and other partnership, stopping racism, controlling terrorism, environment protections, other aspect of life, and peaceful life; enjoys what we do and going to bed at night with peaceful mind and soul without depression. However, most of the us understand in economic growth and economic development as a sustainable increase in living standard, good infrastructures, and skyscrapers’ in metros cities, securities; job securities and basic human right.

Discussion on the nature of significant with an example: Hahabub Ul Haq, cental argument can be given with example in country-wise;

Firstly, the development must put people at the Centre of its concerns.

Secondly, the purposed of development is to enlarge all human choice, not just income.

Thirdly, the Human Development paradigm is concerned on both building up human capabilities and using those human capabilities fully.

E.g.1; Human capabilities through investment and through enabling framework for growth and employment were practicing in Western countries at people choice.

Fourthly; Human Development’s four pillars;

  • Equality; refers to justice, impartiality and fairness, and equal opportunities.
  • Sustainability; political power, socio-economic poverty and the global water and food crises, and controlling climate change and
  • Productivity; economic growth, new technologies work for human development.
  • Empowerment: new dimension of human entitle to make decision.

Example.2: (In China, North Korea and Russia; people choice is very less, but more focus on economics development unlike European countries)

Conclusion: Human Development is understand as to increase in the economics and the living standard of the peoples, political freedoms, equal opportunities, eco-friendly development and civils right of the people across gender, ethnic groups, religions, races, religion, and countries. Hahabub Ul Haq four pillars; equality, sustainable, productivity and empowerment. Human Right and Political Freedom of the citizens are very much important apart from Socio-Economic growth.
