Tangkhuls – Ukhrul district is the home of the Tangkhuls. Tangkhul is a Naga tribe living in the Indo-Myanmar border area occupying Ukhrul district in Manipur, India, and the Somra Tangkhul hills in Myanmar. Although the Tangkhul Naga tribe speaks more than a hundred dialects, the common lingua franca is the Hunphun (Ukhrul) dialect. Tangkhuls are now spread across the globe for studies,job,business etc. Tankgkhul are peace loving people. All Tangkhul are 100% Christians and it has a strongest based for Naga Nationalism. There are many scholars, educated men and intellects in Tangkhul community, they contribute to the society in many way. All the Tangkhul are nationalist and religious.
